Bio

Nick Kent is originally from Biggin Hill in Kent and has been playing Bass for 23 Years. As a long time fan of Rock, particularly Punk and Metal music, he performed in several bands before enrolling at The Bass Institute, London in 2003 to study a Diploma in Popular Music Performance. He continued on to study the BMus (Hons) Bachelor Degree graduating in 2007.

While studying at the Bass Institute in early 2005, Nick joined the up and coming Punk/Rock band TAT and over the next six years toured extensively around the USA and Canada as well as parts of Europe. While in TAT Nick had the opportunity to tour with acts such as Alice Cooper, NOFX, Bad Religion, MXPX, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Bouncing Souls as well as many other respected names in the Punk/Rock genre. TAT also had regular invitations to join the Vans Warped Tour, completing the tour in 2006, 2008, 2009 as well as some one off appearances in 2011.

In 2009, along with his bandmates in TAT, Nick was invited by ‘Fat Mike’ of the punk band NOFX to record tracks for his upcoming Punk Rock Musical “Home Street Home”, which he co-wrote with Jeff Marx, the Tony Award winning writer of “Avenue Q”. Nick played Bass on two songs, “Monsters” and “Urban Campers”. The musical was completed in 2015 with these original recordings released as part of a concept album on ‘FatWreck Chords’ the same year.

Nick helped contribute music for the Universal Motion Picture entitled “Blue Crush 2” in 2010. As well as two TAT songs appearing on the soundtrack from their 2008 'Soho Lights' album, Nick recorded three original songs together with the band’s singer Tatiana DeMaria, as well as arranging a cover of the Allman Brother’s song “Soulshine”.

In recent years Nick has performed and recorded with numerous solo artists and bands including Dave Giles, Danny Gruff, Gary C , Nicole Dash Jones and For Apollo. Alongside a career in Photography and directing and shooting music videos, he also writes and releases his own solo material with his debut EP "Overdose on Fahrenheit" being released in July 2015.

2016 saw Nick move into the Musical Theatre world touring the UK playing Bass on Green Day’s American Idiot Musical including a 3 month run in the West End. In 2017 He toured the UK with the musical theatre production 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' starring Strictly Come Dancing winner Joanne Clifton, as well as ending the year and beginning 2018 in China with performing with the Mel Brooks musical 'The Producers'. 2018 saw Nick tour with the UK touring production of Summer Holiday, as well as a Summer stint in the West End with 'Knights of The Rose' and a return to the 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' production this time performing 2 weeks at Niagara Falls, Canada. In January 2019 Nick returned to an onstage role playing Bass for the 10 year anniversary tour of Green Day's 'American Idiot' Musical which toured the UK and Ireland for 7 months as well as a 10 days run in Auckland, New Zealand ending in October.

Nick is currently performing in 'Pulse',  aboard the P&O Cruise Ship 'Britannia' cruising the Caribbean. This is his third contract after two more also with Pulse aboard P&O 'Azura' & 'Arcadia'. Pulse is the resident party band onboard and also backs guest entertainers and tribute acts. Some of the acts Nick has backed include Nathan James, Vox Clever, Jane Middleton (Annie Lennox), Max Anthony (Elton John), Tesni Jones and the Coldplay tribute act "Live in Technicolor".
